It's an exciting time to join Wickes as we build a new recruitment team and move to a centralised model for our stores, where we can support our ambitious growth plans and drive our expansion from 228 to 300 stores by 2030.

We are looking for two Recruitment Business Partners to deliver a high-quality, end-to-end recruitment service for specialist roles, specifically Design Consultants and Assistant Managers. This is not a transactional role, it is for an experienced recruiter who is able to partner as a talent consultant.

The Role:
Reporting into the Senior Recruitment Business Partner, the role involves blending active application management with proactive headhunting. You will consult with regional stakeholders, influence hiring decisions, and build diverse talent pipelines. You will have the autonomy to lead your regions in recruitment best practise and partner with the communications and employer brand team to support targeted attraction campaigns, and be part of a supportive team.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Own the end-to-end recruitment process for key specialist roles. 
  • You’ll utilise a 50/50 sourcing mix—balancing inbound applications with advanced Boolean searches and social media sourcing to attract great talent.
  • You will advise, challenge, and influence our Store Managers, Regional Leaders, and HRBPs on market trends, candidate quality, and best-practice hiring.
  • Driving targeted outreach to underrepresented groups to ensure balanced, diverse shortlists while proactively "talent banking" for future regional vacancies.
  • Partnering with our employer brand team to create regional attraction campaigns, ensuring our job adverts and social media presence is inclusive and attracts the absolute best in the market.
  • Continuously improving our processes, compliance for unbiased hiring and the candidate experience.

About You
  • You’ll be a proactive, resilient recruiter who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You know how to build instant rapport with stakeholders and candidates alike, and you possess a "people-first" energy that shines through even under pressure.
  • You’ll have a proven track record of 3–5 years recruitment experience (either agency or in-house), ideally with exposure to fast-paced volume recruitment or a customer-focused industry.
  • You’ll be highly proficient in the entire recruitment lifecycle, passive candidate sourcing, headhunting, and skilled in competency-based interviewing.
  • Proficient with ATS systems, job boards, and social media attraction, with a solid grasp of retail market trends and employer branding.
  • Organised and with great attention to detail and exceptional communication skills you will also have a discipline toward process, data integrity, and compliance.
  • A collaborative team player with a growth mindset, able to manage multiple locations at pace, and have a genuine curiosity to understand the wider business.
