We’re looking for a Stay Safe Coordinator to join the Wickes Safety team. It's a role that's central to the team and ensures accurate and timely Safety performance reporting with Wickes, management of our safety systems, and supports the activity and effectiveness of the Stay Safe team.  The role offers a great opportunity to work cross-functionally to support work that aims to keep our people safe and create a great safety culture within the business. The location is flexible,  ideally based near our Support Centre or Distribution offices., but there is an expectation of travel to the support office and other locations for ad-hoc meetings as required. You’ll  have excellent skills regarding the use of Excel and Google suites, and have the ability to communicate and engage at different levels. 


What you’ll be doing: 

  • Support the Head of Safety in the completion of Safety Performance Reports to the Wickes Board and annual strategy review.

  • Compile accurate monthly safety reporting monthly and interpretation of data as required.

  • Monitor and ensure data in the incident report systems is accurate and updated, fulfilling the relevant gatekeeper role outlined in the Safety Performance Measures definitions document.

  • Manage the identification and resolution of bugs and improvements to the Notify system, ensuring that the contract is managed in line with the agreed budget and maximises value for the business.

  • Support the Stay Safe team in data mining and hypothesis testing to aid informed HSE improvement decision making.

  • Respond to HSE related queries to the Stay Safe Inbox, escalating issues accordingly to the Store Support team or the relevant member of the Stay Safe Team as necessary.

  • Complete general Stay Safe related administration, including team meetings and performance reporting. 

  • Co-ordinate the monthly safety communications documents (Bounce) and the Stay Safe Planner. 

Additionally as part of the wider Stay Safe Team the role will

  • Support the development and implementation of Business wide initiatives and activities including the development of new systems, tools and training.

  • Work collaboratively to share best practice and ideas

  • Support other Stay Safe Business Partners by adopting a flexible approach to inter-division working.


What we’re looking for:

  • A NEBOSH qualification is required and if not already held, will need to be completed within 12 months. Previous experience of completing qualifications or certifications would be helpful.

  • An understanding of digital reporting requirements and systems

  • Advanced level Excel

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
