We are seeking a Profit Protection Coordinator to join our team at the Support Centre. This role will primarily focus on coordinating and supporting projects within the Operational Cost team, aiming to enhance company efficiency and profitability. Key responsibilities include managing the Purchase Ledger system (DIDOS) for stores, actively reducing shrinkage, preventing suppliers from placing stores on hold, and accelerating credit recovery for stores.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for identifying and addressing current procedural opportunities within the Purchase Ledger to streamline processes. Furthermore, they will provide support and challenge the business through Profit Protection related Management Information and reports, stock accuracy review scheduling, invoicing payments, and developing stock accuracy routines. This role will also involve participating in other shrinkage-related initiatives to support the Profit Protection Team in driving down losses.
Key Responsibilities:
- To produce business related supporting analysis & information packs for the Profit Protection and wider Cost team.
- Support the Profit Protection Manager to ensure key initiatives land effectively in store. Reporting on compliance and gathering feedback to share with wider business.
- To deliver the DIDOS shrinkage budget through taking ownership and managing stores DIDOS boxes.
- By Raising Supplier discrepancy notes, DA’s, chasing proof of deliveries and credits, monitoring Inter Branch transfers levels between stores.
- Provide supporting data & recommendations back to the business on areas for improvement.
- Agree and produce the required analysis, reporting and budgeting for the team/ business. This will cover all areas from the Cost control team including Shrinkage, SAR’s, Leakage, Petty cash, bad debt and Goods not for resale.
- Build relationships with Wickes commercial departments and finance teams to enable better understanding and control of costs.
- Process invoicing via Netsuite to ensure costs are accurate and applied to the correct cost centre
- Present updates to the profit protection team, wider cost team, senior leadership & regional managers
- Support Wixapedia compliance - ensure that content is up to date and relevant
What are we looking for:
- GCSE Maths / English
- 3 Years Retail experience
- Retail Operations and or Store Trading experience within DIY/Trade sector
- Excellent planning, time and project management skills

This varied role supports the Profit Protection team, requiring a broad skill set from Google Sheets data analysis to strong presentation and communication abilities. It's a hybrid position, splitting time between the support centre, working from home, and local stores. The role is heavily administrative and computer-based, so a solid understanding of Google programs and Wickes systems is essential.
