Are you a results-driven supervisor with strong leadership skills and a passion for operational excellence? Do you have solid experience in warehouse or distribution environments and a knack for getting the very best out of your team?

This role will give a proactive leader the opportunity to drive operational efficiency, maintain high safety standards, and lead designated warehouse sections to peak performance. Wickes is a forward-thinking business that relies on a smooth-running supply chain, and as a Warehouse Section Supervisor, you will play a key part in optimizing resource allocation, managing KPIs, and resolving day-to-day challenges before they disrupt workflow.

We are looking for a confident communicator who thrives in high-volume operations, knows how to foster a safety-first mindset, and is eager to support the growth and development of their team.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Ensure daily operational targets are met across your designated sections. Plan and control weekly labor requirements, adjusting resources dynamically to match fluctuating workloads.
  • Drive performance by setting and monitoring KPIs, ensuring operatives follow health and safety procedures while maximizing efficiency and taking corrective actions when needed.
  • Encourage a high-performance culture through clear communication, regular shift briefings, and structured feedback while mentoring and supporting the growth of future section supervisors.
  • Enforce company and legal safety regulations, conduct regular checks, foster a safety-first culture, and promptly address any operational risks or incidents.
  • Track key operational metrics, analyse performance trends, and deliver reports with actionable insights to continuously improve overall efficiency.
  • Work closely with other Section Supervisors to align targets and track progress while identifying and resolving operational bottlenecks swiftly.
  • Identify process enhancements, adopt best practices, and drive consistent application across all warehouse operations.
What we’re looking for:
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in warehouse or distribution operations, alongside hands-on proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Experience supervising teams of 50+ colleagues is highly desirable.
  • Strong proficiency in Google Suite (Google Sheets, Docs, Slides) and competence in written and spoken English (GCSE Grade C or equivalent preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of motivating teams, running effective briefings, and driving a positive workplace culture.
  • Strategic problem-solving skills with the ability to adjust resources on the fly to meet changing demands without compromising on quality or safety.
  • Certifications (Preferred): First Aid and Fire Safety certifications are beneficial.
What's in it for you?
We’re a team. And teams work best together when they know and respect one another. Listen and learn from one another. Giving you the support you need to do well at work, and the flexibility to make life work for you.

We’ll also equip you with a competitive benefits package that includes:

  • Enhanced contributory Pension and Life Assurance
  • Save-as-you-earn scheme
  • Colleague discount
  • Discount platform including savings and cash back at numerous retailers, savings on gym membership, cycle to work scheme
