We are seeking two Home Improver Community Store Support Executives to cover the North and South, for a period of 6 months. The primary purpose is to act as the on-the-ground extension of the central team. They will be responsible for the hands-on execution and support of community events at a store level, ensuring smooth operations, providing direct training to store staff, and gathering crucial, real-time feedback. This role is essential for transforming the central plan into a successful reality, fostering store engagement, and ensuring we are continuing to nurture customer relationships through our local Home Improver Communities.

Whilst the role holders won’t be able to attend all events, there is an expectation that the role holder regularly attends Home Improver Community Events, in order to take learnings first hand - this will involve travel around our stores.
This is a field based role, so travel is expected with some attendance at Watford store support centre also necessary. Events will be held regularly on a Saturday, therefore the ability to work Saturday’s, when required, is a necessary requirement.

With the regular travel required it is essential that the two Executives hold a full UK driving licence with access to a car.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead First Events: Attend and lead the execution of initial events in each store, providing hands-on support and serving as the primary point of contact for store teams on the day.
  • Conduct On-Site Reviews: Facilitate immediate, on-site post-event reviews with store teams, gathering candid feedback and documenting successes and challenges to inform future events
  • Provide Practical Support: Act as the first line of support for stores, addressing logistical issues, technical problems, and any on-the-day challenges that arise during events. Ensuring that the central event kits are complete and making adjustments to ensure this is so.
  • Deliver Practical Training: Conduct hands-on training sessions with store teams on event procedures, logistical setup, and best practices for customer engagement at events and through whatsapp
  • Enable Local ‘Store Generated’ Content Creation: Coach and guide store teams on-site to capture high-quality photos and videos of events, ensuring content aligns with brand guidelines and is ready for submission.
  • Manage Local Communications: Serve as the direct communication link to assigned stores, managing two-way communication and ensuring they are fully briefed on all event plans and updates
  • Gather & Escalate Insights: Collect on-the-ground feedback and insights
  • from store teams, escalating key issues and opportunities to the Store Support Manager to inform strategic planning
  • Ensure Portal Compliance: Regularly check that store teams are using the central portal correctly and that event information is being populated accurately.

What are we looking for:
  • Field-Based Retail Support: Proven experience working directly within a retail environment, providing support and guidance to store staff.
  • On-Site Event Execution: Direct involvement in setting up, running, and managing events at multiple locations. Experience with brand activations or in-store campaigns is highly relevant.
  • Training & Coaching: A track record of training or coaching individuals or small teams on new procedures, tools, or event plans.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Experience acting as a primary on-site contact for store teams, suppliers, or customers during events.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to quickly identify and resolve logistical or operational issues that arise during an event.
  • Content Curation: Hands-on experience with gathering and organising digital content, such as photos and videos, from live events
  • Adaptable & Resilient: Events can be unpredictable. You must be able to stay calm under pressure, handle unexpected challenges with a positive attitude, and adapt to rapidly changing situations.
  • Enthusiastic & Passionate: A genuine enthusiasm for the brand and the "Home Improver" community to support effective training and a more relatable on-site presence.
  • Highly Organised: Despite being flexible, they need to be highly organised to manage the logistics of multiple events and locations, ensuring no detail is missed.
