We are looking to recruit a Finance Analyst for Leases to join our Finance Team here in Watford. The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the accounting of our property and equipment lease portfolios under both UK GAAP (FRS 102) and IFRS.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide robust financial control and accounting for the leases within the business (Property and P&E). In particular ensuring that IRIS (lease management software) is up to date for changes to all the leases. Liaising with the business to ensure that we have the most up to date information on the P&E leases. 

    Liaising with the property finance analyst to ensure that the IFRS 16 entries reflect the property entries accurately.
  • Responsible for posting period end financial accounting entries and completing reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts on a timely basis
  • Work collaboratively, supporting the Finance Manager for Fixed Assets & Leases to meet tight deadlines at period end, and internal reporting activities e.g. budgeting and forecasting.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the Operations Finance team [to provide insight and accounting support to the business partner] and the business owners of leases
  • Assist with any ad hoc requests across the Financial Reporting and Control team including participation in the year end process where required to help the smooth, efficient working of the Finance function.

What are we looking for:
  • Part-qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • 2+ years Finance Analyst experience
  • Retail / FMCG experience
  • Experience of accounting for lease agreements (IFRS 16)
  • Broad finance experience, with preparation of period end reconciliations
  • Proficiency in MS Office/Google with good Excel/Google Sheets skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Financially literate
  • Problem solving skills
  • Team player/happy to help/can do attitude
  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise work.
  • Hard working and proactive
  • Enthusiastic and inquisitive
